Sky Arts delves into the purpose and power of public art on a mission to create the UK’s next major landmark.

Every episode spotlights three brilliant artists who compete to create local landmarks for their home region. Working across mediums varying from ceramics and bronze to LEDs and inflatables, the artists build, weld and sculpt under the watchful eyes of two expert judges, curator Clare Lilley and visual artist Hetain Patel, as well as a celebrity guest judge from that area: Russell Tovey in the South of England, Mark Radcliffe in the North, Benjamin Zepheniah in the Midlands, Charlotte Church in Wales, Michelle Fairley in Northern Ireland and Denise Mina in Scotland.

The winning artists progress through to the series final, where one of them will be commissioned to create a permanent £250,000 landmark in the heart of Coventry, UK City of Culture for 2021.
